MARC BLACK Band
with special guest
ARTIE TOBIA
Marc Black is an eclectic folk-rocker who carries on the Woodstock tradition of dealing with social and spiritual challenges...one song at a time.
We'd like to congratulate him on being named Folk Artist of the Year by ABC Radio's Fame Games. Paul Sedowski, Fame Games founder, recently wrote "Marc is a phenomenally versatile artist. He should be an international superstar. We think he's one of our biggest discoveries." His band for this show will include Eric Parker from the Steve Winwood and Joe Cocker Bands; bassist Mike Esposito, who was the original lead guitar of the Blue Magoos; Don Davis who is one of the most vibrant horn players you'll hear anywhere; ...and Betty MacDonald, the gypsy queen of the the Hudson Valley on electric violin.
Marc has recorded with an array of luminaries including Taj Mahal, Rick Danko, PDQ Bach and Garth Hudson. He collaborated with Richie Havens on the title cut of the award-winning American children CD. Marc's most recent full CD, Stroke of Genius, features a supporting cast that includes Art Garfunkel, John Sebastian and the Dixie Hummingbirds.
Marc has recorded with an array of luminaries including Taj Mahal, Art Garfunkel, Rick Danko and Garth Hudson of the Band, and Steve Gadd. He collaborated with Richie Havens on the title cut of the award-winning American Children CD. His most recent CD, Stroke of Genius, has won international attention for it strikingly original and inspiring take on the challenges of surviving a near death experience.
Marc has taken the tradition of bluesy folk rockers like Tim Hardin and enriched it further with a unique combination of rock, blues and folk. His band is one of the best to have come out of the Hudson Valley – guaranteed to make it hard to stay in your seat!
