DENNIS GRUENLING & JUMP TIME
featuring STEVE GUYGER
a Tribute to Little Walter

Dennis Gruenling has been laying down some of the best blues harmonica in the East Coast region for 15 years now, and is considered one of the top harp players of the current generation. Along the way, he’s shared the stage with many top names in the blues world, such as Pinetop Perkins, Snooky Pryor, Homesick James, Hubert Sumlin, Little Sammy Davis, Charlie Musselwhite and Kim Wilson.
Now, after years of leading his acclaimed jump-blues outfit Jump Time, and several awards (“Best Modern Blues Harmonica Player” 3 years in a row – Real Blues Magazine) Dennis has chosen to go to his Chicago roots and pay tribute to blues harmonica icon Little Walter, with many special guests, including Jimmy Rogers Band alumni Steve Guyger.
Blues Revue Magazine says of Steve "As a master of traditional harp stylings, he has few equals…”. Steve’s passion for this music took him to Chicago to learn directly from the masters themselves, and is one of the nation’s best kept secrets for blues vocals and harmonica. The late William Clarke has called Steve "The greatest harp player I've ever seen".
“They’ve studied and performed the music of Little Walter with such intensity of purpose that not only do they truly “get it”, they’ve internalized it and made it their own. They just don’t play the songs of Little Walter, they express themselves with fluency within the idiom of Little Walter’s blues…this is deep blues played by some of the best practitioners active today, period.” - Scott Dirks (blues historian/co-author of Blues With a Feeling: The Story of Little Walter)
