Green Room: Legendary music at Towne Crier Cafe

Green Room

Artists you know. Artists you’ll know soon.

There was the time Paul Shaffer and Will Lee jumped onstage to jam with John Sebastian and Jimmy Vivino. And when David Byrne got up to play with Richard Thompson. Or John Voight joined his brother Chip Taylor. Or Ellis Paul showed up at Open Mic.

Or, perhaps most unforgettably, the time here in Beacon when 94-year-old Pete Seeger — a friend of the Towne Crier for four decades — hoisted his banjo in an historic tribute to The Weavers at 65.

Our stage is an intimate performance space where anything can happen. We think singers and songwriters and musicians are pretty amazing, and we dedicate ourselves to connecting them with old fans and new audiences.
