Meet Our Chefs
Chef Robert Tavanello
Chef Robert began his career more than 16 years ago as a dishwasher/busboy at one of the famous chicken houses (featured on Food Network’s “Food Wars”) in his hometown of Barberto, Ohio.
Robert worked his way up in the business working for Cleveland native and famed Michelin Star Chef Dante Boccuzzi. He then made his way to Long Island, N.Y., working for world-renowned French Chef Guy Reuge.
From the Jedediah Hawkins Inn on the North Fork to Pierre’s in Sagaponack out east, Robert has developed many useful and creative methods and techniques for cooking and preparing food.
Mary Ciganer, Pastry Chef
Mary’s exquisite desserts are a signature item at the Towne Crier.
It’s hard to walk past the dessert case poised at the Towne Crier’s entrance without ogling the temptations that await you: Chocolate Truffle Torte, Hazelnut Dacquoise, White Chocolate Lemon Cheesecake. Even a Poppyseed Cake made without dairy, sugar or eggs.
Mary, formerly of NY’s legendary Le Cirque, creates all her desserts on premises.
